
The name 'Capocroce', which was named after the Gancia winery project, means the end of the church, where the choir sings. The symbol indicating Capocroce depicts not only the shape of the cross but with a little imagination, also the shape of a starfish. With such vivid coupling of concepts like Sicily and the sea, the holy cross and devotion, tradition and pride, Italy is truly a country where wine is synonymous with art and culture.
The taste of these wines is rich and warm with ripe tannins and a lovely finish. The Capocroce wines are bound to have an impressive and long lasting effect on its taster. It is ideal with red meat, accompanied by aromatic dark berry fruit and sweet Tropea onions.
The grapes are crushed and stemmed in the basement and then cooled to a temperature of 18/20 °C. They are then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 28 °C. The wine is aged over 12 months in small French barrels.
Capocroce wines are made from grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Capocroce Addumari, Capocrose Pulvino, Capocroce Pulpito, Capocroce Sapiri and Capocroce Nartece are the five specialties. The wines have a clear and impenetrable purple-red color, intense and complex with soft tones. The strength and coherence of the Sicilian tradition, culture and environment have transformed the production of the Caprocroce wines into a sacred
