How is Vodka Made?

The resulting product is very high in alcohol and this is obviously too dangerous to sell. To reduce the alcohol content a certain amount of water is mixed into the fermented mixture. What results is vodka that contains about 40 percent alcohol.
Sometimes flavorings and other additives are included at the end to transform the flavor of the vodka but these are secondary to the original flavor.
