Capocroce

Gancia's return to Sicily, where in the past the family already produced wines, has century-old roots, from the landing of the "Siege of the Thousand" soldiers who landed in Sicily during the Campaign for the Unification of Italy (sbarco dei Mille) to Palermo with the presence of the Santa Maria degli Angeli Church, more commonly known as the Gancia Church.
The new "Capocroce" project owes its name to these origins, which defines the extremity of the church which usually hosts the choir.
In the Contrada Castellazzo, of the Municipality of Trapani, Gancia began, in 2002, a thorough study of the territory and of the most adaptable soil for the autochthonous and International vines, giving birth to an ambitious project which unites competence, technology and local resources.
